Greetings everyone. Haven’t been on tumblr for the past month over with a few snoops here and there on what’s happening around. Been pretty occupied with a lot of things in those weeks back and forth with some great things happening about for me, since finishing up from uni during the near end of may :)

Got quite a bit to catch up on and to update/record on here.

I wanted to make this post. I am not sure how many of you that signed up to the Wanted Artist Takes Times Square competition thing that is open to pretty much all forms of Art for pretty much anyone. I’ve entered myself with some of my photography. I clicked/voted for those here on tumblr for their portfolio page that I know of that entered. Some interesting portfolios.

Anyways, that isn’t the point/reason to why I’m making this post. There was a side thing where people who collected peoples portfolios and added it to their ‘collection’ to make it ‘beautiful’ will win money and a trip to new york, I didn’t care about that. I shifted through hundreds of portfolios and collected really good work that ranged from traditional art, design, sculpture, digital to photography an so on. That however at a small number, paused me for a moment so I stopped looking through portfolios that had purchased the premium portfolio tag because there was something wrong about it. People who had purchased it had a yellow ribbon tag. I looked through peoples portfolios that didn’t purchase it that had good stuff and collect them. I was pretty shocked that the quality in the artist/individuals that didn’t purchased a premium, had roughly more quality work than the ones who did.

The Rule somewhere said to be collected 77 times, the person will have the offer to upgrade to a premium for free. After a good number of collecting really good portfolios of non premium purchasers, I was trying to get someone that premium because I believe they deserved it. After hitting and missing a few portfolios where it landed from 70-76 in these many hours. I had finally made someone get that offer. This person’s illustration artwork is brilliant. Worth that 77th collected star. The artwork in this post is the artist’s work.

So I would like to say well done :) The individual’s name is Andrea Oropeza.

I can now feel at ease, feel good! and most importantly, get back to finishing off my project which I must hand in for monday’s setup at uni.

That draws the end of my photos taken with my old Sony DSC-W300 digital compact camera. There are some more left but I’ll leave it as that. It was somewhere along there where I had moved to my current canon 50D dslr. I’ll post a handful of the first parts where I had first setted out with my 50D next.

A very treasured photo of mine. The first proper photo taken when I had first set out for some night photography. A few days before this photo, I had purchased my first ever tripod so I was itching to head out, brings back good memories :)

The sony and canon user guide rule book supplied with my camera said somewhere to “never point and shoot directly into the sun”. That day, I disobeyed that rule and went ahead and done that with shades on along with a 9 stop ND filter in front of my camera. It felt pretty badass..lol
